Classwork Update - Pro-Social Behaviour

As most of you are aware, this week we started the new topic of Pro-Social Behaviour. This was presented in the form of a PowerPoint presentation, here students were asked to record some of the notes from the presentation.

According to the definition, you have been required to create a comic strip, which demonstrates an act of Pro-Social Behaviour.

This is to be presented into your plastic portfolios as part of your assessment.

If you have missed out on this task due to an absence, please see me as soon as possible and I will assist you with your catch up.

Remember:

A Pro-Social act can be defined as any act of helping behaviour, towards a society, group or individual. Furthermore, theorists and psychologists believe that, the focus of a pro-social act, is not the behaviour (act) itself, but the intention.

Last of all, for the act to be considered to be altruistic, the intention of the individual must be to assist another society, group or individual without benefiting from the act themselves.

Please make sure that your comic strip is handed in, no later than Friday the 15th of May, 2009. If you are having difficulty meeting this deadline, you should take your poster home and have it handed in , by Monday the 18th of May, 2009.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi there,

Not sure if many of you recall, but within the last week I have been asking you to write down an area of industry you would all be interested in pursuing post Hallam Senior College. Consequently, I have taken the time to research a number of links that you may find of interest to you. Please take the time to read anything that is applicable to your area of interest as this will give you a better idea of the requirements of various course entries and any industry representatives you need to familiarise yourself with.
